For you nitpickers out there (of which regrettably I am one), the element silicon is a component of the gel-like industrial compound silicone with an "e" at the end. I thought you ought to know because I myself just realized this. I've corrected the spellings of my last two posts.

Frankly, I think you're making mountains out of molehills.

Sorry!!
Seriously, tho, I'm not sure that I'd be making a stand about the FDA's incredibly poor approval process based on this.
Or am I missing something? (wouldn't be the first time)
I'm not Henry. I have no problem with what the FDA is doing in this case. I just think it's a shame.
Hopefully, at some point in the future, these companies will be able to provide acceptable data supporting the structural integrity of their products.

So the point is that, if the gel-makers had better data, then you'd disagree with the Feds in this case?
I don't disagree, I'm just not sure I get the point.
I'd like to, tho!
(Please don't take this as a slam; it's not. I'm just having a hard time understanding your point)
BTW, just saw a piece on this subject at foxnews.com:

All I'm saying is that it's a shame that a product that I happen to think is more realistic and more acceptable cosmetically than the existing product (saline implants) won't be made available for women this time around.
Hopefully, the manufacturers will be able to provide longer follow-up in the future (which seems to be the main obstacle to acceptance now).
I'm not faulting the advisory committee's judgement though especially in light of the fact that I don't have access to the data they have.

Got it!
Thanks for being patient with me ;-))
